My Chinese friend bought me this TV program that teaches Chinese kids the meaning of Hanzi. If you can put up with the bad production values and watching a kids TV program then its pretty good way of getting a better idea of character's meanings.

I actually prefer children's material if I can get my hands on it. The language is much easier to understand. Thanks for the link!

how much is it, and how can one get his hands on such a material? is it extensive or just few characters?

WanLi   January 22nd, 2010 1:27p.m.

One more question, does it cover simplified or traditional? sorry i am still a newbie and my questions are still more than my answers

shinyspoons   January 22nd, 2010 7:29p.m.

Its from the mainland so its simplified, and the one i have has 207 episodes, each covering from 3-7 characters.

As for getting your hands on it if you cant get to a chinese dvd shop, you can use the link to youku in the first post as they are all online.
